Pourquoi cet engouement ?
Certainement, l’envie de savoir comment travaillent les traders, cette profession cachée dans laquelle on gagne (ou on perd) des millions.
Avec la conscience qu’une partie de notre économie réelle dépend de leur activité virtuelle.
Enfin, ce procès est l’occasion de mieux comprendre la mondialisation, ce monstre que personne ne maîtrise vraiment et qu’on a l’impression de disséquer, telle une bête terrassée, enfin….
La personnalité de Kerviel est intéressante aussi : comme dans tout bon suspense se déroulant dans la haute finance, on a affaire à des profils hors du commun, et Kerviel en fait certainement partie : est-il très intelligent, fou, opportuniste ou avait-il un énorme besoin de reconnaissance pour engager quelque 50 milliards pour sa banque ? Je dis bien pour sa banque, puisque les bénéfices liés à des engagements supérieurs à la limite qu’il était censé respecter ne comptaient pas dans ses commissions. Ce serait bien que le procès réponde à cette question-là aussi : la question psychologique.
enfin, Kerviel contre la Société Générale, c’est le pot de terre contre le pot de fer, David contre Goliath : le public adore…
Avant le début du procès je me suis procuré le livre du journaliste William Emmanuel (lire ses chroniques sur le site www.globalix.fr) :« L’affaire Kerviel ou la folie du système financier » aux éditions du Toucan, paru à chaud en mai 2008. Je suis en train de le terminer, c’est une belle introduction au procès, on le lit comme une enquête policière dans son déroulement chronologique précis, avec les relations avec ses supérieures, collègues, etc. Je retrouve pas mal d’éléments (et de personnes) du livre dans le procès retracé dans les sites internet ci-dessous, les deux se complètent.
